The distillery say 'This single malt Scotch whisky is inspired by the iconic and rewarding first bottling of the 16 Years Old release back in 1992. Before 1992 the only way anybody, even the distillery workers, could enjoy Mortlach was as a blended whisky. It has been matured only in sherry casks to impart spicy and sweet notes atop the beastly complexity synonymous with Mortlach.'
