Description
This Tomatin is part of their new Five Virtues Series which the distillery explain 'The Five Virtues - Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water - is a concept synonymous with the age-old processes and materials employed by our distillery men. Water feeds wood; wood sustains fire; fire gives life to earth; earth yields metal; metal gathers water; and the cycle continues ....
This bottling of Earth, the third virtue, is exemplified in an edition rich in intense and - unusually for Tomatin - Peaty flavours, a consequence of maturing whisky made with peat-dried malted barley in refill hogshead casks. 50% refill hogshead 2006, 25% sherry hogshead 2006 and 25% 1st fill ex-bourbon 2006.
